SAJC TUNE IN 2Wow! An update! Hey all graduating secondary school students! SAJC Concert Band is having their Tune-In II on the 20th November 2010 (Saturday) It will be held at SAJC Band Room: Click to view map Furthurmore, our lovely ushers will be bringing people to our doorstep from Potong Pasir MRT Station itself from 8.30am to 9am! If you are coming: please sms/call Aloisius at 91774750 and include: 1) Full Name 2) Secondary School 3) Contact Number (If private) 4) Whether or not you can bring your own instrument* *We will try our best to provide instruments for those who are unable to bring their own, but we may not have enough. So we hope you can bring your own instrument as much as possible!! (: If you do need to borrow from us, please drop Aloisius an sms/call BEFORE 13th November 2010! Pls be present by 3.15pm in the Canteen. N.B: For those who end class at 3.30pm, pls join us immediately after lesson. at 8:50 PM Thursday, April 1, 2010 Announcements Both JC1s and JC2s: 1) Pls pay $55 nett for your band dinner to your respective batch's treasurers by end of next week, ie 9th April 2010. This is to facilitate the payment for the deposit The band dinner will be held in Orchard Hotel, on 27th May 2010, at 7.30pm Pls inform your batch's SL by 2nd April(for JC2s) and 7th April (for JC1s) if you are unable to attend. JC2s: 1) Concert Ticket $$: For those who have not settled your ticket sales payment, pls do so by 7th April. All payment to be made to Ms Ho. Accounts need to be closed by 9th April. JC1s: 1) Band Practice on 6th April: 5.30-8.30pm 2) Pls pay $3 for your catered dinner (for the Ngee Ann City Performance on 7th April) after band practice on 6th April 3) Pls think of a theme for the band dinner and vocalize it on 6th April 4) Pls check your Saints PE shirt size and let your SLs(list to be released soon) know by 6th April This is NOT an April Fool's Joke!!! Have a good weekend :) at 9:35 PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 Schedule for 1st March Rehearsal: SAJC: 10am: Excused from lessons 10.30am: Report to Bandroom and pack up instruments/files 10.50am: Truck arrives 10.50-11am: Load instruments onto the truck 11.15am: Bus arrives 11.15-11.30am: Board Bus and Leaves SAJC by 11.30am 12pm: Reach Loading/Unloading Bay of Esplanade 12pm-12.30pm: Unload instruments and security clearance 12.30pm: SAJS report to Esplanade via Loading/Unloading Bay 12.30-12.45pm: SAJS unload instruments and security clearance 12.45pm: SAS report to Esplanade via Loading/Unloading Bay 12.45-1.15pm: SAS unload instruments and security clearance 2pm: Rehearsal Starts (SAJS) 2.30pm: SAS Starts Rehearsal 3.15pm: SAJC Starts Rehearsal 4pm: End of Esplanade Rehearsal 4.30pm: Load instruments onto Truck 5pm: Board Bus To Go Back to School 5.30pm: Unload instruments/Debrief N.B: Please be in the bandroom early and not only at 10.30am cos we still need to give out the artist passes. All JC2 SLs, pls be responsible for your own section at ALL times, esp in the Esplanade Concert Hall cos there would be 3 bands and we would want to minimise chaos. Pls make sure your section mates don't go roaming around and just stay in your allocated rooms/areas. We really appreciate your cooperation in this. at 1:15 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 7 days to 1st rehearsal, 34 days to concert. Those who had performed in the "One Family, One Flag" concert of 2006 would remember the pride they had, on the stage of Esplande Concert Hall. The hearts of the Saints in the SA family beat as one, on that memorable night. The memories of that concert will always remain in the hearts of those who played with their juniors, their alumni. 4 years later, the 2nd series of "One Family, One Flag" is launched. It is worrying to see pple not working hard enough for the concert, though many said that everything would just be ok on the concert day. Time is running out. We have expectations to meet. Our own expectations. Would we be able to come together as one and make 28th March a memorable night for everyone? When we play on the stage of Esplanade, who are we dedicating the pieces to? To our batch mates who had been thru thick n thin? To our juniors who have joined us and will continue with the legacy of this band? It is a honour, not a given, to be able to perform in Esplanade. It is a fortune to perform with the bands of the SA family. Very few bands in Singapore are able to have a family concert like us. Let's make 28th March a SA night, a night which everyone will remember fondly in years to come, a night which ends our band journey on a beautiful musical note. at 10:41 PM ONE FAMILY ONE FLAG!
